Silence is hateful
The lack of a voice
Has driven men mad --
Why is it my choice
To dwell in this world
Without sound or source
Without music's soothing --
With no true remorse?
Some are born deaf
Sound-immune, and cursed
To never hear silence --
I ask, which is worse?
To be left alone
In a place without sound,
Or never to know
The solace I've found?
